Gilbert Hovsepian was born on the 4th of August, 1976, in the country of Iran. He was raised in a home filled with love, encouragement, and music. His father Haik was the superintendent of all the Iranian Assemblies of God churches in Iran. Gilbert was nurtured in an environment engulfed in worship, ministry, and the Christian church. It was within this unique setting that Gilbert eagerly discovered his love for the piano at the age of seven. Years later, this talent grew into a passionate calling to bless the Iranian church. In 1994, his family suffered a great loss with the tragic martyrdom of his father, causing his family to migrate in 1999 to the United States of America. Through great loss came even greater opportunities for Gilbert and his family. In just a few years, Gilbert became a prominent voice for musical change in the worship culture of the Iranian and Armenian churches in the State of California where he resides. Soon after, Gilbert decided to further his musical education by attending Pasadena City College and later California State University Northridge. Despite his father’s brutal martyrdom by the Islamic extremists in Iran, he was able to not only love and forgive them but by God’s grace, serve and minister the gospel of Jesus Christ through international media means. Gilbert Hovsepian has traveled to countless countries and to more than 200 churches worldwide, ministering through music, media, worship, and teaching. His international satellite programs have affected thousands of lives bringing many to the knowledge of Jesus Christ. Today, Gilbert has recorded and produced several popular Christian albums in his recording studio in CA and has continued his ministry of serving today’s persecuted Christians in the underground church of Iran.Gilbert is happily married to his wife Ani, and they have two daughters: Jessica and Juliana.
